Time flies and half of the year is gone. We had over 50,000 hits in June from over 3000 unique visitors. This only means we are spreading and that’s good news for us. We are reaching a lot more kababayans, finding more friends and families. To those who have found us please let your presence be known so we can exchange stories and also get to know you. You could be someone’s lost relative or loved one. I promise we will not knock on your door without telling you first!
Have a safe and sober Fourth of July in the good US of A.
Oh yes, the romantic month. Let’s do more of those MMK’s. There are a few out there where we only get hints. Time to pin down those people! Don’t forget Father’s Day on the 21st and of course Juneteenth (Freedom Day, 19th).
This is one of my favorite months because there’s Mother’s day and my dd’s birthday. Mother’s day is a bittersweet one as I get treated very well and at the same time it’s a day that I miss my mother so much. To those of you, whose mother is still with us, treasure them.
May 7th is also the national day of prayer. To those of you who are wondering about my religious affiliation, this is all I can say… I don’t preach Christianity… I live it (at least I try to). – Your friendly admin.
Do we make April a joke month since it starts with April Fools? I think there’s no need to as we already have been playing fools since we started this blog. It’s been fun so far and we do appreciate other people who takes them all in even if I know that some comments could be borderline censorable. It’s all in good fun. To those people who are going back home for the fiesta, please do take care and enjoy yourselves. Mga kababayan sa Bongabon – enjoy your balikbayans!
There’s no holiday this month but members of the organizing committee are getting together on the 21st and 22nd to make decisions on when the next big reunion will be. It’s pretty much decided that the event will take place in Las Vegas again in 2010. However, we need input from those that are planning to attend on what we can do to make the next reunion as successful as we can make it. The biggest decision is when we will do it. We were thinking of doing it around spring break.. and we are aware that schools don’t have the same spring break week. So please, send your suggestions on what your preferences are and we assure you that we will take every input into consideration. You can blog the preferred dates, but please send other suggestions to any member of the committee. If you want anonymity, send it to me and I promise total discretion (will keep it secret even under torture). -Rona
Pahabol: St. Patrick’s Day is this month.. so we can celebrate with green beer!
There was no rule that showing love and care should be celebrated for just one day. So we’ll call it Valentine’s month. Time to be gooey, cheesy and mushy; there’s no harm in it. Keep those jokes coming coz I do like hurting my cheeks from laughing. Thanks to all who gave me accolades for the blog- I am so humbled and it’s my greatest pleasure to give a means of communication and a sense of camaraderie for the townsfolk.
2009! I wish everybody had a safe celebration and nobody’s missing fingers and such. Can’t blog without them! This is also the reunion month so it will be a busy one for all attending the occasion. We apologize if we haven’t had time to welcome the new bloggers or answer most posts as we are still busy for the upcoming reunion. Remember, our minds are not what it used to be… forgetful most of the time. You can rest assured that we value everyone’s comments here.
New month, new blog. Please post comments here. There’s a bunch of school batches without pictures. Where are they? Old social pictures and funny ones are very welcome.
To the new bloggers and lurkers: Read the October and November first to keep up with what’s going on.
Hello Bongabon bloggers! It’s great to see people from all over the world posting here. I am so proud of the former Bongabon residents coming out sharing experiences and nostalgic moments with us. So many things and events in our early lives were said here that brings us back to those old days. Some were funny and some were considered low points in our life. The people, may it be our teachers, family, friends and classmates were instrumental in making us what we are today. Most of us here are what the younguns would call “gurangs” but this blog is open to everybody. We’d love to hear from the younguns too, especially those that are currently living there. We are relying on them to give us news from our dear hometown no matter how small or trivial it is. Blog away!
-Rona You don’t stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing.
First blog month.
To those who are new here, I recommend reading this first before the November blog.
It shows the growth of the blog.
